As part of Diageo’s 2016 special release program, this Glenkinchie 24-year-old single malt scotch whisky was matured in refill European oak butts with an output of 5,928 bottles at 57.2% abv. It’s the oldest official bottling of cask strength, single-malt whisky the Glenkinchie distillery has ever released as well as the first matured entirely in European oak casks.

Matured for 24 years in refill European oak butts, this is reportedly the oldest cask strength Glenkinchie to have hit the market. According to bloggers who've tasted the 2016 Special Releases, it's been a consistent (and unexpected) crowd favourite which "stood out against the pack". All round richer and more Sherry influenced, expect this Glenkinchie to take you by surprise.
