Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is a distinctive unpeated single malt that showcases the unique terroir of Islay through locally grown barley sourced from seven farms across the island. Distilled in 2013 and matured for approximately eight years, this expression was aged in a combination of 75% first-fill American oak casks and 25% French wine casks, creating a beautifully balanced whisky that highlights both the character of the grain and the influence of its coastal origins. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.

On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of citrus, honey, ripe peaches, apricots, vanilla, marzipan and delicate floral notes, underpinned by a subtle maritime freshness. The palate is rich and creamy with layers of malted barley, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and orchard fruits, complemented by hints of sea salt, ginger spice and oak. The finish is long and elegant, carrying notes of honeyed citrus, soft oak and gentle coastal salinity. Widely regarded as one of Bruichladdich's finest terroir-driven releases, Islay Barley 2013 offers exceptional complexity while remaining approachable and beautifully balanced.
