With an exceptional reserve of maturing whiskey to draw upon, Bushmills stands apart as the only producer in Ireland able to release ultra-rare, high-age-statement expressions of this calibre on an annual basis. Originally distilled in the early 1990s, this remarkable single malt forms part of a journey that began in the 2000s, when Bushmills started experimenting with re-casking its whiskeys to further enhance the distillery’s distinctive character. Although these early experiments had no specific series in mind, they have now culminated in an extraordinary collection of aged expressions.

The Bushmills 30 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey spent its first 14 years maturing in bourbon barrels and sherry butts before undergoing an exceptional 16-year finish in first-fill Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks. Renowned for its rich, naturally sweet character, PX sherry imparts luxurious layers of dried fruit and deep, indulgent complexity, adding remarkable depth to this exceptionally aged whiskey.

Released in 2023 to commemorate the opening of the new Bushmills Causeway Distillery, this historic bottling represents a significant milestone for the distillery. With just 1,500 bottles released worldwide, it is an exceptionally rare collector’s expression.
