Glendronach 30 Years Old Sherry Cask 2025 Release Single Malt Whisky 700ml

The Glendronach 30 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky forms part of the distillery’s newly rebranded 2025 ultra-premium range, unveiled alongside the 21- and 40-year-old expressions.

This exquisite 30-year-old release is matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks—hallmarks of The Glendronach’s richly sherried style—enhanced with a select portion of Amontillado sherry casks, marking the first time this cask type has been used for a Glendronach single malt.

Only 5,000 bottles have been released worldwide.

Glendronach describes the whisky as “a smooth and complex Highland Single Malt with an enveloping mouthfeel and a seductive, lingering finish… a masterclass in whisky-making and a pinnacle of excellence from the distillery.”

Nose: Rich aromas of morello cherry, raisin, and spiced Brazil-nut toffee, layered with marzipan and medjool date caramel.
Palate: Silky and deeply complex, building with flavours of glazed cherry, sultana cake, cinnamon raisin-nut toffee, and chocolate-hazelnut café crème.
Finish: Long, elegant, and warmly sherried.

Founded in 1826 by James Allardice and rebuilt after a fire in 1852 by Walter Scott (not the famous novelist), Glendronach later became part of one of Scotland’s great whisky families—the Grants of Glenfiddich. Charles Grant, youngest son of William Grant, acquired the silent distillery in 1920, and it remained in the family for four decades before its sale to Wm. Teacher & Sons. Both families were early champions of single malt whisky, and Glendronach bottlings appeared throughout the 20th century until Allied Distillers mothballed the site in 1996. Revived in 2002, The Glendronach has since risen to become one of the most respected sherried single malt distilleries in the world.
