This year’s Lunar New Year Limited Release, “The Knotted Tree and Golden Lark,” celebrates both the cultural splendour of the Lunar New Year and the pristine beauty of Tasmania. Matured in select small first-fill sherry and port casks, this remarkable Tasmanian whisky weaves a rich tapestry of flavour to mark the occasion.

Enticing aromas of nutmeg and pomegranate mingle with delicate hints of smoke and praline. On the palate, a silky texture reveals layers of chocolate, ripe stone fruits, and warm sherry depth, finishing with notes of dates and toasted pecan. As the southern winds usher in the festivities, a red oriental thread drifts onto Tasmania’s fertile soil—transforming into a majestic tree, graced by a golden lark, symbolising happiness, prosperity, love, and luck for the New Year.

The exquisite design by Chinese artist Menghui Huang brings this enchanting story to life. At its heart stands the Knotted Tree, rising from the Tasmanian landscape and adorned with oranges, peonies, and cherry blossoms. Overhead, a golden LARK bird carries a glowing lantern, illuminating the scene with the joy and wonder of the Lunar New Year.
