The latest chapter in Bruichladdich’s legendary peated series, Octomore 16.1 showcases the distillery’s fearless pursuit of flavour. Crafted from 100% Scottish mainland barley and peated to an astonishing 137.3 PPM, this Islay single malt redefines intensity while retaining Bruichladdich’s signature elegance and balance.

Matured for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks, Octomore 16.1 reveals a striking harmony of smoke, sweetness, and oak. The nose opens with waves of smouldering peat, vanilla pod, honeycomb, and toasted coconut, followed by sea breeze and citrus zest. On the palate, rich malt sweetness meets creamy caramel, roasted coffee, and charred oak, unfolding into a long, warming finish with layers of salted toffee, smoke, and spice.

Bottled at a commanding 59.3% ABV and presented at natural colour and non-chill filtered, this expression captures the raw, untamed heart of Islay — pure, powerful, and uncompromising.
