The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Moscatel Wood Finish 700ml

The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Moscatel Wood Finish is a distinctive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, originally released as a Europe-exclusive expression. It was initially matured for more than eight years in premium American oak ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished for over 42 months in specially selected Moscatel casks from Portugal. Bottled at 48% ABV, it is presented with no added colouring and without chill filtration.

The nose is aromatic and inviting, showing orange blossom, heather honey and citrus, with layers of grapefruit, butterscotch and toffee. On the palate, rich dark chocolate, grape must and plum jam lead into orchard fruit, cinnamon and honeycomb, followed by ginger and butterscotch on the finish. A beautifully rich and fruity expression for whisky enthusiasts looking for something beyond the standard GlenAllachie range.
